I believe it is. In my owners manual it has a section on ABS and it says "if equipped".

I think it is part of the security package with the key fob.

When it first came out on trucks only the front was abs so who knows. I thought that grzly was saying it was difficult to lock up the front wheel on a softail so the abs was pointless.

His post makes even less sense to me now because it's not hard to lock up a softail at all. The front is harder to lock than the rear but get into a life or death braking situation and you'll see how easy you lock either wheel up.

I have no doubt that ABS on bikes will save many lives and prevent many injuries. More so the average or intermediate rider but all levels of riders will benefit from it.

I wish I had it on my softail but I wish more that the wife had it on hers. I even hinted to her that she could trade her's in if she wanted.

Two of my friends had with their FLSTC's bad accidents on wet road, caused by blocking the front wheels. One of them (wich was three weeks in hospital as a result of the accident) bought a Road King -with ABS.

I was convinced for a professional training, were the young bikers, without any experience in motorbike riding, with ABS-equipped motorcycles shows me (more then 40 years of motorcycle experience) with ease, how bad my skills are in braking.

Last week I bought a 2011 Heritage with ABS.

Excuse my bad english (or/and correct it), please.

As i said before there are many members on this site who like me have many many years riding experience .... all this was done way before ABS was even an idea ..... now apart from the **** that pulls out straight on you or veers across into you in that situation as it's happening just recite the Lords prayer cos it dont matter what you got your going down .... whether ABS or a klingon cloakin devise is fitted your history .... so i prefer to ride the odds i never stack em .... i will just stick to my own jugement and a little help from the other side ....

Hey Jim Kraft... I'll bet your Chevy had the same problem as mine... Bad sensors on the fronts, which actually reacted as though you had no brakes! Thanks for letting me re-live those white knuckled stops!

I'd take ABS any day. Wouldn't that also reduce the possibility of a "high roll" too?
