No hurry, man. It's snowing out right now. we are supposed to get 6 to 8 inches by morning ( all rude comments welcome here). So i wont be riding until late April at the earliest.

The chrome covering added just enough metal so that the bolt still fits but can't be tighten all the way.

I'm working on the same issue, but I'm fabing my own parts. I have no experience in this, and have no idea what I'm doing. I don't know how to weld, but I created this part.

I'm not happy with it and will try again tomorrow. I guess we're all working toward the same end.

I like your idea, woodworking1! Yeah, putting all the weight of the jockey shift arm on the shifter shaft seems that it will stress it. I agree. A solid point on the bike (the unused horn mount bracket) will take stress off the shifter shaft. I'm missing the jockey that I had on a prvious bike and want to get one going for Bandit (an XL1200C).

The shifter arm on my old V-Star was welded onto a shift lever coupler. But it worked great for quite awhile.

Except for the 2 yr old post above yours, the rest of this thread is almost 9 yrs old.....

You'd probably get better response if you started a new thread.....
