Any Chance to try out that Billboard yet, or is the weather still crap like it is in SE Kansas?

Default Herd back from Klock Werks

I got an e-mail back from Vic at Klock Werks. He explained that the 18" measurement does not include the flare. He encouraged me to give it a try and said that they tested it on riders from 5'4" to 6'5" and they all said that they would use that shield.

Sorry to keep posting about this, just thought that I would give an update. I will let you know when I get it out for a ride.

D.

I appreciate the updates. I'm 6'1" and I'm considering buying one. (After I let you test it for me)

I'm interested to see how the reviews are also. My main hope is that this windshield will reduce the wind turbulence in my face and chest. Hopefully it works as advertised.

I'm hoping that it reduces the air coming from undernear the screen. I have been looking at lowers as well as a Jack's Flaps Vest. I'd rather have a good windshield take care of it.

Default Will Do!

Will do guys. I just can't wait to get the chance - starting to snow again, ugh.

Don't know if you guys found this: http://www.*****************/forums/ha...ard-flair.html
pretty good review.

Great looking bikes guys. I like the solo saddle look, but put a big scrtach in my rear fender when taking off my backrest, so I usually keep it on now to cover it up. Bob - love the wheels!

Hope to be in touch soon,
D

Wow...20" is gotta be like having a wind sail in front of you... Good protection, I bet.

Default Well, I rode it today ...

It was one of those 35 deg. days that felt way warmer than that. The sun was out for awhile, and most of the roads were dried up. Since they are calling for 16 + inches of snow later this week, I decided to take her out for a ride around the hood. I went up and down the street about 4 times with the new shield on. About 1 mile each way - never got above 40 mph. First thing that I noticed was that my suspicisons were correct. My line of vision was through the top 1/4 of the shield. I have never looked through a shield while riding - always over. Felt very odd to me. On one pass, I happened to follow my neighbor back towards the house, at a normal safe driving distance, and his entire truck was under my shield.

I could feel light air on the top of my head. No air on my gloves or up my sleeves, and generally felt very comfortable. I just assumed that it was similar to the stock shield and decided that I was not a fan at looking through the shield.

I came back and decided to change it back to stock. Got it switched out and took it for one more spin. Boy what a difference. My hands were cold immediately and I could feel air going up my sleeves. There was much more wind on my face. I was chilled to the bone when I got back - never felt cold with the Klock Werks.

Now I am confused. I kept the stock shield on when I put the bike back up, but I am not sure what to do. I definitely think that the Klock Werks is the way to go in cold weather, so I might keep it for that reason. I took a 500 mile trip this past October on days that started out in the low 40's. Once the chill got into my bones, I still felt it when it got closer to the 70's. I am just not sure if I can get used to looking through a shield, so I will keep the stock for summer.

I have attached some pictures of my stock shield on top of the Klock Werks so you can get an idea of the difference in size.

Hope this helps.
