When you say won't start what do you mean?

It turns over? It backfires? It won't crank? Do you have lights? Has the battery been on a trickle charger / tender?

Gotta give a few more details before anyone can help.

Use WD-40. It will work almost as good and won't hurt your motor.

Your gas might have gone **** up, check your plugs and replace them if fouled. Don't use starter fluid you might get more BANG then you want. If I don't run the fuel out of my carb my bike will do the same in the cold, after I change the plugs it normally fires.

Sometimes the battery still needs a boost to turn the bike fast enough to start, and have enough to fire up the plugs.

I've seen some bikes turn over but not fire when the battery gets too low.

Also depending on what weight oil you use, it may be too thick to allow the engine to spin fast enough to fire up in the cold.

Next would be to check for spark while spinning the starter.

Maybe you forgot to turn the petcock back on?

I'm not interested in firing mine over the winter. Cold puts some unusual strains on cycles. Also if you don't let it heat up you may risk the issue of condensation build up in the fluids. A lot has been said about that issue.

Default hard/no start

I had the same thing going on when the temperature dropped. I pulled the battery and discovered it was a cheap piece of crap from China, only putting out about 210 CCA (I recently bought this bike, didn't know battery history) I bought a new battery at a local Batteries Plus store.
http://www.batteriesplus.com/product...to-2009/1.aspx

The new battery turns it over real fast.....motor starts real fast, with 310 cold cranking amps power ..... $114.99 with 2yr free replacement warranty.... no brainer. Just sucks buying a battery this close to Christmas!
