I have a 2000 fatboy that is stored for the winter in my garage. i just noticed a small spot of oil about the size of a tuna can round. it has been put away science november. it has never done this before shoul i be worried?
How far up front is it? Could it be steering bearing grease? It's not uncommon for that to come out but it would have either had to have sat for a long time or been pretty hot for it to spread out to a "tuna can" size.
this is my first harley. i have a few pics posted if you want to take a look at it. thanks for the help. 2000 fatboy
Don't panic yet! I saw an oil spot under mine about the same size, up on the lift it went and I found some on my tranny cover and on the bottom of my shotgun shock.
I wiped it all off and waited, and waited, and waited, then looked again the next day, and the next.
Rode it about a 30miles, still nothing.
Conclusion: topped off oil before I put it up for a couple months ago and spilled some evidently and the oil just slowly worked its way down, no leak!
We're not going to be able to tell anything from those pics. Can you post one of where it's sitting in the garage that would show the oil spot? That would help us help you determine where the oil/grease may be coming from.
