I don't like the looks of apes and find the stock bars on my Heritage too tall for me. I'm thinking about changing to something lower and furthur back.
I have no plans of changing the stock drag bar setup on my new Nightrain in the near or intermediate future - I want to ride it quite a while and see how it goes.
If the time comes where I feel a change is needed this is the look I want:
I never have the loss of feeling in my hands with the taller apes, when I used to ride a sports bikes I got that sensation alot on my throttle hand and always blamed it on having my weight on my wrists. I personally like taller, like you said different strokes for different folks. The smaller apes like you have remind me of the 70's alot is all. Looks good on your bikes but I think would have looked horrid on mine.

Um 13" inch apes are a little small arent they? Even 15s are a lttle small. How can you have Ape HANGERS if your hands are lower then you, your obviously not hanging. Id stick with the drag bars on that cycle if I were you though, looks good.
Well, as I said earlier: different strokes for different folks.
The 13s, for ME, are perfect. They put my hands at just below shoulder level. I'm not overly tall, and I like to be able to ride my bike for hours in relaitve comfort. I'm not interested in having to stop every hour so that the feeling can return to my hands, or being all stretched out.

That's cool. I have tried out taller apes, and they just didn't feel right for me. The 13s, on the other hand, are perfect!
