Found a 7" stetched rear fender for 200mm Fatboys!!
I have been looking all over for a stretched rear fender for the 200 rear fatboy. Nobody makes them, I even called Klockwerks and they said they would not make one from a stock fender because they had problems in the past with them cracking from the additional length. Thats when I came along a company called Dragon Fly Cycle Concepts. They make a pre-drilled bolt on rear fender for the new 200mm fatboys. They have a 7" stretch over the stock fender and use a stock tail light. The fender goes for $390.00. Has anybody purchased any parts from dragon fly concepts? Are they quality pieces? I would appreciate any feedback I would love to put this fender on my 06 FXST with a street glide front fender. Heres the link for the 07 plus fatboy guys.............. http://www.dragonflycycleconcepts.com/tirekit.htm
I am pumped this fender is baddd!
I dont know anything about that company , but I can tell you I put a fat boy rear and a custom cut front on my FXST and it gives it a low cut like you are going for . pic
Rick, I gotta say great job bro! I gave up on finding one and was going to have mine made. I've been saving the money to do just that.
I have two concerns (but for the price ya can't hardly go wrong) and thats that the fender looks to me like it sticks way out at bottom, like 7" or so (maybe not). Thats a small issue as one could mod that right. The other is if it is made out of fiberglass (I don't want that)or is it a tin?
I can't believe you found it in the first place! I looked for days and even posted on the forum. When are you getting it?
I looked all over for this thing ended up finding it on another forum after searching google for hours. I called up the company that makes the fender and he said it was some type of composite it is not a steel fender but he assured me it was very strong. RTM composite or something? I think he said? He said the fender is molded from a stock fatboy fender so fitment will not be an issue and also has the flat mounted portion on the front on the fender to mount the ecm. I would pull the trigger on this fender right now, but I need to wait for a my funds to recoop after my last recent spending spree, new pipes, air suspension, taller apess, pipes, etc!!! You guys know how it goes! But for the price and it being a direct bolt on predrilled! you can't beat that
Nice find!!! I, too, have been looking all over for an extended rear fender to fit my bike. My only reservation is that it is composite, which tends to shake a lot more violently than steel. They also advertise that they can do factory paint matching. Hmmm...may have to shoot them an email.
