Default I Give Up

Well let me rant a little. When I bought my current bike 5 years ago. My wife kept burning her shoes on the pipes after many times and nemerous hours of removing melted plastic off my pipes. I had a great idea (I thought) went out spent 350 bones put passenger floor boards on. Now I hated the look, but no way could she miss those huge boards and melt her shoes again. Well they have worked great the past few years but today got out for a nice ride and parked the bike. Guess what good GOD she must have felt that heat as the pipe are just covered in it. There is even what looks like a paint run where the plastic just ran off the pipe. I give up.

That is frustrating and tough to get that stuff off. I feel your pain but unfortunately don't have any good ideas to help.

Grab a foam buffing pad ...hook it up to your drill.... then use McGuire's scratch remover..... ALL MARKS WILL COME OFF THE PIPES IN SECONDS....done.

No more marks!

And yes I've done this to my pipes many many many times... and this does not effect chrome at all... No scratches in chome or anything...

I use one of these guards. No more burnt shoe on the pipes. If I remember it was about $100, but it saved me from scrubbing at shoe rubber again.
