I don't think lowersthey look all that bad on FLs..now on FXs its a different story..however, the ugliest accesory IMO are those BIG OLD ORANGE CRATE SADDLE BAGS [:'(]
so far, i am not crazy about mine either. you really hear a lot of engine noise. or is it just me ? the one thing i really do not like about my heritage. am i alone on this one ???????
get yourself a good pair of snowboard pants from REI, with a good leather and boots and you'll have to open them up some from sweating your azz off.Your good to go down into the 30's with out all those shields and fangs.I'm 54 and still don't think about windshields.Buts that's just me.I've worked outside the last 34 years and the cold doesn't bother me like it does others. sfcmo357 that's a fine lookin ride.

On a trip to TN last month, I put the windshield on for the first time all year and since changing out to the 2in1...I had three guys that are mechanics listen to my bike because I thought it was making a god awful noise.....Noise was always there, and it was normal..i just couldn't hear it with out the shield.
ride with the windshield only then with deflectors...it's a major difference in the windage those deflectors eliminate...I only run deflectors when it's cold, I feel they may block needed air from the engine for cooling...
but an ugly one will give you a better ride.
I told my mom once that I hade a date with a girl who was really damned ugly...
she told me the ugly girls have the best "stuff", and that was God's way of protecting it...

did my first long trip with windshield last month ... and the "strange" noises I could hear were a real distraction . Taking off the windshield solved the problem , although I am sure with windshield on you would quickly get used to the different noises you pick up... after all the bike is just damn noisy
