Are you guys riders or posers? It's the quality of the ride that counts, and in MHO you will have a hard time making any deluxe look ugly!

UGLY is those big mitten looking things that attach to the handlbars just inboard of the controls. A Co worker rides a heritage, and he uses em in the winter. But ya know what? He rides year round too. So once again, function beats out form!!

I have dorky friends who even ride with them on in the summer for Gods sake. I tried it once and it was like having sex with a rubber on. Unnatural.[]

Dork

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

•LearnmoreaboutcitingWikipedia•Jump to: navigation, search

Look up Dork in
Wiktionary, the free dictionary.Dork is a term of abuse favored by American youngsters, designating the target as quirky, awkward, eccentric, socially inept or simply of lower status. Similar epithets include nerd, geek, and the Australian colloquialism of dag which has the added feature of being seen as affable or amusing.
The term implies stupidity perhaps less often than it formerly did, and paradoxically can imply an unadmirable (bookish, academic) intelligence, much as "nerd" and "geek" do.

Etymology
It is popularly asserted that the term originated as whalers' occupational slang for the ***** of a whale, and by transfer became an anatomical insult, undergoing subsequent generalization and amelioration to its present meaning. The current state of evidence suggests that this is a case of folk etymology[1], as no solid documentation has been advanced for the use of the term in this context. One of the earliest documented uses of the word "dork" is a 1961 publication (referencing 1953), in which the meaning is clearly *****, but with no particular reference to whales[2]. Instead, the term may be merely a minced oath variant of "dick", a vulgar term for a human *****. In its current most common usage, however, the phallic association is ignored and the term is not considered particularly vulgar.

Other uses
"Dork" is a common slang personal name for one of the main figures in the CGI software Poser.
It is also known as a surname. Ellis Island records indicate people registering as early as 1907 with Dork as their last.[3]
The word "dork" has been used on an animated T.V. show Ed, Edd n Eddy in almost every episode by Kevin. [citation needed]

I use that term for some of my friends good naturedly and with affection.
I once told a younglady that the term Dork also refered to a mans *****, but she didn't believe me.
In my neighborhood in the 50's it was a perfectly acceptable (amoung us guys) term for our *****.

do the wind deflectors make that much of a difference?
In a word, yes. My only complaint is that they knock off a few mpg.
