Dang ... I was just countin' out my $10k for one of those elcheapo blacklines too!
A sportster for $10K!!!! I bought a 2009 833 Lo very late in 2008 for less than $7000 ... and traded it back in for $6999 a year later on my 2010 Fatboy ... was it a 1200? Did it have some dealer installed goodies on it?
PS: the stealership still hosed me on the deal ... they get you one way or another ...
Yes it was a 1200 and had lotsa customs and to be honest, I didn't spend much time looking at it (not a big sportster fan). The dealer is "Wild West Harley Davidson" out of Lubbock, Tx., maybe they have a picture of it.
lol and I think $10,000 was what it was worth, but I damn sure wouldn't give them $15,000 for it.
I just went to site and didn't see it, maybe they just got it who knows.
I was just suggesting it as a new model for HD. Not sure if it would be me either. I like my leather bags (especially after Boss Bags did their thing to them) and windshield instead of a fairing. Never was one for a sterio system anyway. As far as the name 'Classic', it would be just a Classic and not a Heritage Classic. If my Heritage was gone right now for some reason I'd probably buy another one.
Good points you make. I would also like to have the Boss Bags system for my Heritage Bags. Looks like a very good purchase. Your idea of a Softail Bagger might not be all that far off track, given what I read here regarding riders' tastes, etc. Agree with your last sentence as well.....I would replace my Heritage with another one without hesitation.
Had the day off so I stopped by the dealer and saw the Blackline for the first time. Wish it would have been a black one but it was orange. Except for a couple of small issues I liked it. Salesman said they haven't sold a single one yet however.
