This was kind of strange so I thought I would share, in case anyone has a similar problem. Went out to go for a ride today on the Cross Bones. It started but backfired and quit, and then wouldn't start. Tried over and over with no luck. Decided maybe the battery wasn't fully charged because it turns over slow, so I put it on the charger. This didn't help. Went out later in the evening and realized that when turning the switch on, I couldn't hear the fuel pump kick in.
I checked the fuse block and the fuse for the fuel pump had worked its way up and almost out of the holder. Pushed it back in and the bike started right up. Apparently the vibration over time had caused the fuse to come out. Weird.
