I would also like to know the answer to this--anyone know?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I SE-254e offers more mid range than the 255. I just don't see a lot of people ever talking about this cam, the 254 that is.
I don't know that there is 1 cam that works for all application...Woods has a lot of show on this forum because Jamie at fuelmoto did a lot of trials on them....I probably would be raving about woods 555 or TW6-6 or SE 255 or S&S 510 if i had them in my bike...If you are looking for a mild low end cam for 2up then you won't have to go extreme /....I am not a cam expert but with all the talk we have done here and the Fuelmoto testing you should be able to make a pretty good decision...WHatever you pick it will more than likely make you take notice with a dyno or your ASSDYNO...O i forgot about Feuling and Kuryakyn cams too and T_MAN..Dave mackie....
I noticed no one said anything about the S&S .510G set up. Anyone have any opinions on these cams?
Mike
I have the S&S 510G in the roadglide and 510C in the xbones.
My numbers were 86hp 98ft lbs on the RG, and 84hp and 96ftlbs on the xbones, they really don't come alive until 2900-3100 rpms so it feels like stock except very lopey idle below 2900rpm, so these would not be where he wants his curve, it's the same cam as the S&S 570, except the for the lower valve lift and the 510 has slightly tighter lobe sep angle. The 570 starts making power around 3300+
I have SE255s. It sounds like I ride similiar to what you are looking for and I have no regrets. There is no shortage of good choices or info on the topic.

Couple of techs I know rave this cam. In the screaming eagle catalog I think it was it documented how the 254e blew the 255 I think it was in the exact same bike and setup. They (meaning the techs I know) say it's a really good cam for a bolt in on stock.
Here is my main problem right now, I do not know what rpm's I usually ride at since I do not have a tach on my heritage. Usually if I need to speed up quickly, then I must downshift because I love riding in lower rpm's, but i could be riding at 2,200 or 2,700. I do not want to buy the wrong cam here. Sounds like the SE-255 is meant for big heavy touring bikes in which mine is not. The SE-204 looks like a great mid-range bolt on cam, but then again, I need to know for certain where my rpm range is when riding to choose the best cam for my riding style. Grrrrrrrrrrr, this is just too much for me to think about!
Guys lemme throw in a quick question what would be the best tuner and cam to go with if ur planning to intall the 103" big bore kit??? The most common i read on ppls sigs is the SE255s ??
