Just checked a bunch of new and used plugs and it certainly seems you are correct. All the non HD plugs were under 10ohms. The 2 new 6r12s were 25 and 35.
I've never had an issue with NGK, Autolite, Champion. Also have used NGK Iridiums.
I wonder if a properly tuned motor even needs the knock detection.
Probably don't need knock detection unless you over heat it or run into junk gas -
what happened to me when I was running Denso Iridiums. Thanks to 104 octane
boost I didn't hurt anything but left a nasty coating on the plugs - probably used
too much.
I run e3 plugs. I indexed them. Thought what the hell I'm a sucker for a new plug that could give me some gains. My bike runs good. I like to think everything compliments each other. At the end of the day it's your bike do what you want.
Ok everyone, I'm upgrading my wires on my Rocker, so I was wondering...
What set of Spark Plugs are the best?
What is everyone running?
Does it really make a difference?
Much Aloha

Just use HD OEM....make sure gap is right....and tourque to spec. Otherwise....improved performance from aftermarket plugs is BS...and a dumb waste of money.

Yeah, several factors to consider. Tune, gas, altitude, how you ride/rpm's lugging the motor, mountain passes, 2up/weight...
Hey guys!
Can you help me with a piece of information please?
Can you tell me the product code for NGK Iridium spark plug for a 2002 FLHRI?
And which of the NGK spark plugs are the best for my Harley?
Thanks!
i am a firm believer in putting back in what the manufacture put in.. champions for mopars, ac delco for gm, autolite for fords, ngk for ricers and bosch for germans.. harley uses champion and that is fine by me. i can get standard champions at autozone for 1.99 each all day long..
Went out a couple of weeks ago and bought a new set of plugs. HD's (which I understand are made by Champion anyway). Gapped them, put a little never sieze on the threads and had them ready. Removed the original plugs. They looked so good (gap good and burning a light brown) that I just put them back. That was at 17,000 miles.
