I got the one you show in Your post but in Matte.
Like it alot, light & comfortable, no air ride-up problems, fit snug.
Only thing you need is to put a Quick release on the strap. http://www.leatherup.com/p/Outlaw-He...et/147798.html
id go with a 3/4 not a half.....wind tends to choke a guy with a half...unless you have a windshield of course
+! on the choke out. I replaced my skid lid, half helmet with this one from here: http://oldschoolhelmets.webs.com/fulmerv2.htm (site maintenance right now or he's gone )
One off paint too. Worth the dough...and I am MUCH happier with the wind noise level. Never thought I'd dig the Old skool 3/4, but I super happy with this lid!
I just got an HCI100 on eBay for $35 shipped. I think it looks as good, maybe a tad bit better on me than my Voss novelty. After all these years I kinda prefer riding with a half helmet better than with no helmet and use the Voss. Just figured if I was going to wear one it might be of some use if I go down.
All real DOT helmets will give you some what of a mushroom head look. There is no way around it, that's just the way it is. But of all the DOT helmets I've looked at and tried on the Vega XTS Naked was the closest thing to my old non-DOT half helmet I could find, and believe me I looked for a while! My XTS is only an inch or two longer and wider than my old helmet and it doesn't sit that high up on your head. My size medium, flat black helmet weighs exactly 25 ounces. That's exactly 1 ounce over 1.5 pounds and only 1 ounce heavier than my old non-DOT helmet. The XTS is great featherweight helmet at a great price and it's DOT to boot!
