An idea- Get a Skid Lid, Daytona or similar inexpensive DOT approved helmet, but go 2 or possibly 3 sizes smaller. Carefully pull the black liner out, sit the helmet in your lap and mash the Styrofoam down with a ball peen hammer until it fits your noggin. Spray with upolstery adhesive and reapply the liner.
The outer shell dimensions are available from the Daytona website. Should be easy enough to figure just how small you can go. http://www.daytonahelmets.com/home/d...ull_black.html
I wearing a Fulmer flat black 1/2 DOT I picked up at the HD dealer the day I got my new Lo. pretty light weight and only 60 bucks.
I used to have a small collection...and I have had a few non DOT "novelty" helmets...
The Fulmer is not too bad, not too much mushroom. I may check into that Vega Naked.
[I dig seeing the old Bell style 3/4 helmets coming in style...I used to wear those as a kid when I rode dirt bikes...I had a white one w/ the blue stripes that matched my Yamaha IT 175...]
I have a huge noggin so i use the novelty german with dot sticker when a helmet is required. i like the look but the straps are pretty cheap and the wind will make you deaf on a long ride at highway speeds. i have ordered a bell drifter so we'll see how that goes.
It is the same thing, and they will make your head look like a mushroom anyway.
I have the low pro style and a novelty/ non dot and not much difference in looks
I would have to disagree with you on this one...
Hey Alika,
I just bought that carbon fiber outlaw it's the smallest one I've seen and it really lite also... The thing I like the most is that it doesn't bulge out on the sides of your head and stays in place at speed for me atleast.
Here a few pix with the new outlaw carbon fiber and my Voss novelty helmet... I gotta say for a DOT it's small...

What size are both of these helmets. Are they both the same size? I wear a Large in my Voss, trying to get an idea of a size for the outlaw....
Hey Brett... I will back up NY Duece, I looked forever and finally found the Vega XTS Naked. Very low profile and doesn't ride up. I think I paid $56 for the flat black.
I would like to see pics of you guys wearing these helmets.....promise we won't make fun of your mugs....I need to get a good DOT. We do a lot of riding in Georgia, and these stupid motorcycle only check points are starting to pop up....
Thanks Kuma... I thought thats the one they were talking about... I'm very happy with it! I bought one for the wife also. How did your sizing go what did you end up going with? I fanaly got to ride with it and it stay where it supposed to without choke my F'ing neck.
Brett... the Voss Nov is a XL little big but I can where a baseball cap under it backwards and the Outlaw Carbon Fiber is a Large... Measure your head and if you fall in the middle go up... it worked for me
Just for you Brett... lol No jokes please... Kuma seen this already and promised he wouldn't share them but what the hell...
