I do fit in the large but after a day ride in the Large and XL the XL fit better. I run with either a buzz cut or longer hair so that also played a part. But is comes to personnel choice. I like them tight but not to tight.
Is the break in pretty minimal? I don't mind the large being tight if it breaks in a bit.

Yeah I would say break in is pretty minimal. There are earlier posts about how guys took a bat and "rounded" the inside. To me being in a state without helmet laws I now wear one because I want to protection. I know fullface would be best but hey after not wearing anything for 15 yrs this is better than nothing. I truely believe if you change the shape you are compromising the protection. Being a FF and dealing with rescue equipment I believe in it. If we drop (front a good height) some of our rescue stuff we get rid of it. So I dont see how taking a bat to a helmet to change the shape is any different. The thing that sucks about the outlaws is that you have a small window to get one. So not really a big window for trail and error. My head is 23.5 inches or 59.7 cm

Yea, we have the same size head... I order the XL for the best fit without being too tight.

I have a large Rockhard and ordered the large Outlaw also. Fits tighter than the Rockhard. I would say if your head fits past the mid point of their sizing chart, go to the next larger size. I was right in the middle of the large measurement, and it's snug. Any tighter and I would have to go to an extra large.

I noticed the same thing. My Rockhard is a L and fits awesome, I had an Outlaw in L and sold it to a friend

I ordered the L for the wife and XL for myself. She was on the upper end of the M and I was at the lower end of the XL. I have worn a couple XLs that were a little sloppier than I would have want. Hopefully they fit damn near perfect. The helmets are due for delivery Friday

My head worked well with the 'small' RockHard and Bell, it is usually Medium in other helmets

Here are a few 'action' shots with my RockHard (Red) and my Crazy Canadian low profile half DOT (Black) and you can see also the change in bar heights

I have a local store that carries Rockhards. I'll try one on and then go up a size for the outlaw. I think I can fit a medium pretty tight in the Rockhard.
