Can't find a decent looking driver backrest for the solo set on my 2008 FLSTN! I've heard Firehouse Customs has them but their website seems to be "down". Anyone have any answers?
IF you can find one (Check Ebay etc..) an older model Springer seat rail, and backrest pad look awesome on a deluxe. Wife has it on her's, but I got mine before they discontinued them.
Part numbers Springer Rail 52687-97
Tall Back Pad 52827-97
Good luck..

I agree with previous posts on springer rail. I have an 06 Deluxe that I bought last May and I was lucky to find a springer seat with the rail and both back rests (short & tall) on eBay. Look on eBay regularly and one will come up.
Check these guys out. They've got 'em. I have one but only put it on for long rides. Not crazy about the look but it does enhance touring comfort significantly. You can see it in my bottom sig pic too. http://www.cavalrycustom.com/store/drive_backrests.html
I've been looking for a backrest for my heritage. I see the ones on ebay similar to the cavalry backrests where they mount using the two bolts under the seat where the pillion pad attaches. It seems like when you lean back it would put alot of stress on the bolt locations and the top of the fender. Has anyone had an issue with this?
I was able to get a low backrest on Ebay and anticipate i will need to add spacers. Could you share the pictures of how you did this. My email is odonnellsj@hotmail.com
