Default Some new additions to the Fatboy...

I got the rims and tires put on today. I got brand new rims from a buddy, never on the street- he had them removed when he got his bike new in 2003. (went with star rims and had the dlr switch them) He had them sitting in the boxes since new.
I got the new tires, Metzelers, online for a great deal. ($272 shipped) So with the new tubes I am in these rims/tires for about $450.
I switched the stock FB bars and put on a set from a 07 Deluxe. They brought the grips down a bit, they'll do until I figure out what I want.
I added the Deluxe fender. The bars and fender cost me $125.

I just need a new (used) rear fender and I can start the paint. I'm using a set of new tins so the bike doesn't need to come off the road for paint. I'll sell the stock red tins when the new ones are done.

So far making this Fatboy work for me is working out OK, I hated the stock wheels and front fender. Those were easy fixes.

Once I get all this old stuff sold (FB wheels, stock tins, extra 2009 rims/tires I bought but wouldn't work, etc) I will have the cash for the Samsons- then this build is done!

Now I just need to get that blue crap off my tires. Kind of pissed that the tire guy didn't do it. Anyone have a great technique to get that stuff off?

Still need:
Stock HD crash bar.
Rear Fender
Probably go with a different tailight, tombstone?
Samsons- longtails
Maybe a differnt seat- smaller
Wider bars, thicker and wider. (hide the wires)
Clear front turn signal lenses
Progressive drop in kit to lower the front
lower the rear- not sure how yet.
I think that is about it... Man I need to work some o/t!

*my sig pic shows how it was when I got it- 2 up seat, stock rims, blackwalls, FB fender, etc.

Don't forget to clean the blue off the white walls. My wife is sitting here laughing about the blue. LOL. Looks good though.

LOOKING GOOD SO FAR. TRY DECENT/HIGH PRESSURE WATER HOSE ON THE TIRES. THE BLUE SHOULD RINSE OFF. IF NOT, USE ANY GOOD DETERGENT...DAWN, ETC. THEY'LL CLEAN RIGHT UP. BLEACH WHITE CLEANS WELL ALSO BUT IT HAS A TENDENCY TO CAUSE THE WHITE TO STREAK ONTO THE BLACK RUBBER. NOT GOOD IF OVER USED. GOOD LUCK. BY THE WAY, I LIKE THE FENDER CHANGE AND SPOKES. WOODY

Bike looks great aqua...

SOS pads work great for those ww tires.

I thought about a set of fat black spokes & black wheels maybe with wide whites for the lo.

I took the pics with the blue still on because I didn't think I'd have time to get it off before my next days off- next Wed. The guy that put them on went on and on about how hard it was, etc... that is why they did not do it.
Well, it was EASY. No, REALLY EASY. I used hot water w/ costco dishwashing liquid and a sponge. It came right off, super easy.

So here it is with whites...

If only that front fender wasn't grey! Oh well, it will motivate me to get the tins painted. All black w/ pinstripe in red & white (maybe- not trying to be an associate) No console extension on the tank, will do some old school stripe design where that went. (maybe on the rear fender too- small tho)

Nice job, what kind of seat is that and how do you like it?

The seat is a LePera solo bones "up front". I like it, I guess these sit you a little closer than the regular bones seat. I don't think I will keep it, I like to be farther back and maybe a smaller seat. (might go with something more nostalgic, not sure)
It is nice though. (looks a LOT better than that 2 up!)

Very nice mod's Aquaelvis. We have similar bikes, though mine is an '04 and carburetor equipped. I also sold off the majority of original components except for the seat. Yeah, don't miss those disk wheels one bit!
