Default Help from a tech guy....

HI, After 3 nice lady's hit me with a car. I decide to cutter off the end from my stock 2004 FXST mufflers and take all the baffles. The sound is really loud and great, but I don't know if is ok to run the bike like that. Now I'm sure the lady's can hear me now!! LOUD PIPES SAVE LIFES!!! Somebody can help me with the information about the pipes? Thanks.

By all means I am no tech guy but you should be ok to run them like that...it is the same as putting straight pipes on

you will lose some performance though from the lack of backpressure.

Back pressure in your exhaust is your friend, so you really do need something IMHO.

Best bet would be to either buy a loud exhaust if you're so inclined, or at least consider buying some loud slip-ons. At least you'll have a loud exhaust that is engineered properly for your engine.

Ok, friend of my told me that it's possible to made some butteflies and put inside of the pipes, that will help to keep some back pressure? What do you think? Thanks.

You can also run torque cones. I run these as my exhaust has no baffles.
