Default Need HELP "Clutch Cable"

I am helping out a buddy of mine with installing 16" Apes from Burley and a Burley cable kit. I am having trouble with the Clutch Cable feeling like it is draging and hard to pull. I have talked to Burley about this and was sent a new cable that dose the same thing. I have made sure that it is lubed and no sharp bends in it. The ball and ramp in the side cover is assembled the same way as Stock. Any help????

You might try re-adjusting the clutch at the clutch pack. Maybe the slack in the new cable is different than stock and requires re-adjusting the clutch at the pack. You say the ball and ramp went back together just fine, better be sure on this one. After you adjust the clutch at the clutch pack per the shop manual and set the slack at the clutch purch to be 1/8-1/4, watch the operation of the clutch through the derby cover as you squeeze the clutch lever and make sure all is ok.

Lube, Lube, Lube it. My cable (also a Burly kit) was dry and grabby. I cut a corner out of a ziploc bag, put the lever end of the cable (after removing it from the lever perch) in the bag, and sealed it with tape. put a couple of tablespoons of motor oil in the bag and let it work its way down the cable. Works like a champ.

Just wanted to say thanks Drew it was a lube problem. That Cable Lube in a can stuff didn't work. I hooked up a funnel to one end with Trans oil and a suction pump to the other and pulled the oil in.

Thanks Again
