Default FB Lo neck bearings

Ok so I finally got my powder coating back, and I put the upper trees back on.. side story..when i had them off, i used a spacer made from PVC pipe to hold the lower trees on, so not to screw up the bearings inside the neck.. it wasn't perfect, but rather than having the whole assembly fall apart, it managed to hang in place.. but now that i have it back together i'm looking at the lower tree and noticed a small gap between the neck of the frame and the trees/bearings.. is that gap alright? or will grease seep out of it in the summer? it really doesn't look like anything "can" seep out, but i dont know whether the lower assembly should be flush with the neck, or if it's supposed to be slightly spaced.. the space is only like 1/8"

I just checked my bike and yes. I have that same gap. But on that note...Yes...I do get some leakage from there. But I believe my problem stemmed from the fact that the dealer didn't check my neck bearings when they did the 1K mile service. That caused me to get a really bad shake in the steering at about 30-50 mph. I took it to a different dealer and they test road it and told me they couldn't let me ride it out of there and that they were going to fix it right then and there under warranty. Took them a little over an hour, but it rides great now. However I do still get a little grease leaking out. It's not much now though. I think it was just overfilled. I just have to make sure I clean that area. Not a big deal at all and I think it'll go away eventually.
