I pinned my bars with roll pins or shire pins. It's a little bit more trouble to do, but I'll never have to worry about my bar moving again!

God bless!

Cut strips out of a couple of rubber gloves and rap them around the bars inside the risers.

Thanks for all the advice. The new bars are on order but I'll be doing something to prevent this from ever happening again. As it is I tightened them and it hasn't happened since but I'm still freaking out waiting for it.

Are you replacing the bars because of this? If so, then just drill the cap and pin them. That will solve your problem without replacing the bars.

I'm replacing the bars because I don't care much for the bars. I'm fixing the issue because I never want this to happen again.

I'm thinking drilling the cap and pinning them would be the best fix though.

That's what I'm talkin about! The other subjections are good also, but if you drill and pin the cap and bars, they'll never move.

Man, I am probably jinxing myself, but I never had this happen. I did check the torque on the risers every so often though. You can't just tourque them down and assume they are good though, you got to look at the gap between the riser and the riser gap to make sure it is uniform. I will say that getting them to the 16 or so lb ft was nerve racking, especially after all the stories I have heard on here about stripped risers.
