I'm finally going to hit the road on my new baby! I have just over 1,000 miles on her all from day trips around Louisiana and Mississippi. But on November 2nd, I'm heading to Arkansas to hit SR 7, SR 23 (the Pig Trail) and one of my favorite roads, the Talimena Skyway from Mena, Ar. westward into Oklahoma. I can't wait! The handling of this bike on the Pig Trail should make it big fun!
During my 1,000 mile service, I had the shop install the HD detachable sissy bar so I can put my travel bag on the bike. So I should be set! I've done 600+ miles before on my old Roadstar, but have only done 270 miles in a single ride on the Springer. The 270 was fine and I wasn't sore in any way. I'm hoping the 1500+ mile, 4 day trip on the Springer will be a good one. I LOVE this bike and hope I still love it after this long ride! Anybody out there done a similar trip on the Springer Classic?
I'm not a big fan of the whole pseudo retro-look line of HD's but your Springer Classic is a great looking ride ! I'd be proud to own one just like it.I hope you're pleased with it durig your trip and enjoy every single mile.
