I just bought a 2007 FLSTN, Deluxe, from a non Harley motorcycle dealer It only came with 1 key, and NO fob.
When I turn the ignition switch on, the red "key" light comes on, after a few seconds the light goes out and the bike can be started. Is it possible that this bike does have a factory security system and I just need to get a FOB and have it programed?
Did they sell Deluxe"s without security systems?
The bike has 13,000 mi and is bone stock, paid $10,850... does that sound like a good deal?
I may be wrong but I don't think your bile has a security system otherwise you would not be able to start it wihout the fob. Mine is a 2007 deluxe with the factory securtiy and the device has to be within a certain number of feet for the bike in order to start it.
thats a good deal on a deluxe and i believe in 2007 they had the buttonless fobs so i would say you dont have security or it wouldnt if you pull the little cover off thats just forward of your rear tire you can get the numbers off your turn signal module and take that to harley they will tell you whether its a turn signal module or a turn signal security module.
... When I turn the ignition switch on, the red "key" light comes on, after a few seconds the light goes out and the bike can be started. ...
I don't have security/alarm on my bike and when I turn the ignition on the red key light comes on too ... Guess it's just a part of the start-up routine in the ECM.
I have '10 Heritage with no security system and the red key light comes on when "booting up" the bike. Goes out with the rest of the lights and then I fire it up. Ride on and enjoy your new bike. Congrats
