Agreed.

Citoriplus,

By funny I meant your comment about sitting on the speedo trying to reach the pedals. I pictured that in my head and said that would be funny picture.

It may sound funny, but before I actually took delivery of my Custom. I had already started looking around for someone to "fix" the seat and I was also looking around for SHORTER controls. On the dealers showroom floor the foreward controls felt a little borderline to me. I had never ridden a bike with them so I didn't know how they were supposed to be. So I started looking around for a solution to a problem that didn't really exist.
Once I was actually riding the bike for a couple of days I realized the stock setup was very comfortable and seems to fit me quite well.
So please excuse me if I find moving them 3" or more a little funny. It just brings up that picture of the 5 year old with his feet flapping in the breeze.

Not to hijack the thread, but does anyone know what all year models are compatible with an 07 NT as far as forward controls go?? This is my first HD, I'm kinda new to all this...Had a couple crotch rockets but now I've seen the light LOL..I'm 6'6" and am pretty cramped on my bike.I've been loking around on the net and all the extended controls that I see and like say they fit 00' through 05' softail.I know they changed the frame in 99' (I think?) but was wondering if changes were made from 06 up? I'm looking for a set of 3"+ or 3" extended controls for an 07'.I found a set of 3" ext relocator brackets but would really rather have the complete assembly in a custom design.

These are the plates I have found...

Anyone tried these? Worth the money?

Forgive my ignorance....

Later,
Mike

They should, a Standard is just a Custom with less polish and chrome.

I tried to get the forward controls that firestarter has pictured and Kuryakyn says that they discontinued them. Anyone know where you can find them? The new ones that Kuryakyn is offering are solid and don't look as good (IMHO) as the ones that firestarter has.

Rats! Missed another one![:@]

100th Deuce,

I am looking at the 2006 Kuryakyn catalog and they show the 3 1/4" forward controls part # 9041. They must have just discontinued them. Check out Krooners.com, they are a huge wholesale, they may have a set in stock. They are also 10-15% below the catalog price. Give them a call, they are great to work and and are very reliable. I order almost all my parts through them. Good luck

Man, I wish they were still available. The ones that you have on your bike (at least the blue bike in the picture that was posted) shows the 3" Kuryakyn Extended Forward Control Kit for Softails like the ones in the Custom Chrome 2006 catalog on Krooners.com. These controls have the big cutouts and are not solid like the 3 1/4 Extended Forward Controls (9041) . I sent Kuyakyn the picture that was posted and their tech support guy responded saying that the ones in the picture are not offered anymore.

Maybe someone still has the old ones in stock but I called a few places and couldn't track any down.
