Default help with handlebar install

I have an 09 train and will be installing apes. Was wondering if anyone has just disconnected the fuel line but not the cross over and just slide the tank back to get to the wiring plug.If so,did you have to take off console or disconnect fuel pump. Thanks for any help.

The plug is right behind the plastic cover at the front of the tank. I was able to remove one side and the headlight plug but had to disconnect the crossover and raise the tank to get the other two. If you have small hands you might be able to do it.

You will have to take the console off but it's held on by one bolt. The vent tube is at the front of the tank under the console.

Take off the console, unplug the fuel line and slide it back. I can do it that no without issue. It saves a lot of time.

I should have clarified. Lift slightly and slide back with your hands. You can see how far it will slide by checking the crossover.
