Question 2011 Fatboy Deal Good?

Hi,

I'm in the market for a new 2011 Vivid Black Fatboy with the chrome wheel option. I'm trading in a 2009 Sportster 1200 Custom with 3,800 mi. Here is the best deal (4 dealerships later) so far:

15,999 MSRP
+ 545 freight/setup
+ 710 chrome wheels
- 500 discount
TOTAL= 16754 + tax + tags

7,000 for my bike (about 200 over high book)

I'm in upstate NY. Any ideas on where to go from here? Should I try to get more of a discount? If so, how much more? Thanks for your help.

-Amy

I agree and tell them to forget the freight/setup. Make sure you shop around compare deals. Good luck

Don't forget the free Tshirt and discount card. I would also ask for my first service to be free.

that is msrp plus the 500 discount means you are paying 45 for freight plus 200 over book on yours dont sound like a bad deal to me

Amy....in the FL market that would be a great deal. Harleys are as common down here as old people. They sell lots of bikes here cause of the 12 month riding season. Upstate NY might not be so good. Hop on your Sporter and do a 200 mile radius of dealers. Shop your deal and see how you do.

As you said in your post, you did shop around. Yes it is a good deal! It looks to me like you are getting it MSRP out the door arent you?

Your getting $500's off and your getting $200's more for your trade in. They are going to charge you for chrome wheels where ever you go, so I say seal the deal.

I say about right. I would never pay freight/setup. Sounds like with the discount and extra trade your about right. Don't be afraid to say "drop the the freight/setup and we got a deal".

I paid MSRP for my Bones. And it was shipped in from a different dealer in a different state and they didn't charge me for freight. It looks like the discount they are giving you pays for the freight. I'd say if it's the bike you want, you're not doing bad at all! Go for it!
