I'll 2nd the reply about Turtle Wax chrome polish. I have used it for years and it works great. About the exhaust question, I have also used it on my heat shields and haven't seen any issue there either. I just take my time and I can put a shine on the chrome and make it look brand new.
Good ol fashion Turtle Wax chrome polish has worked really well for me...that and Pledge...of course.
+1.
I am doing a set of V&H true duals with this stuff right now as a matter of fact. I used to use this stuff on my cars in the past and now I use it on my Harley's chrome.
I just bought some Turtle Wax recently for my cars and bike and my son used it on his car. He asked me about the wax and I told him it's been good enough for many years for me. He was shocked that some old fashioned product did such a good job. I just shook my head and said live and learn....
I think your original question was about putting polishes/cleaners on parts that get hot. I haven't had a problem with anything burning onto those parts except my boots and rainsuit.
sort of on the same lines I usually hit my chrome atleast once a week with mothers, Like to keep it shinny. then I have been know to apply wax to my cold chrome parts, never tried the wax on hot pipes or primary case.
How do you remove the chrome polish from the black engine case when your rag slips while polish is being applied to the primary cover? With a gray engine case it didn't show up that much but my new heritage has a black engine case and the white polish is hard to remove from it.
