I was told the same thing; that H-D batteries are made by Deka.
I just clocked 4 years on my stock H-D battery and still no issues. I don't put a charger on it and it's still good to go. When it comes time that I do need to replace it I will confirm that Deka are the same as H-D's battery and go with that. If not, I don't have a problem paying the $129.99 I was quoted for an H-D battery if it lasts me as long and has been as problem free as my current one is.
