Count the first set rusted all to heck with in a few months.
Got the mfg to send me a new set and the new set lasted exactly 13 days (yes you read correctly days) before the black finish started to come off in places. It is only a matter of time before they rust.
What about black pipes are you not having good luck with?
My guess would be where the heat shields are bracketed on they tend to wear the finish and they begin to rust. Chrome seems to handle the brackets better. That's the only issue I have ever noticed.

I didn't have heat shields on either set. However, you are correct I am having finish/rust problems
