HEY DREW.....thought there was a reply here about you getting 422's....anyway please email me about a set....the progressive rep on here was less than helpful and told me to "find a dealer"

Really. The Progressive rep who hangs out here replied to one of my 422's threads. We even PM'd a couple of times.

Hey guys, just to clarify... I suspect this has to do with not offering a forum special. Thing is, we love our dealers and discounting and selling direct (taking them out of the sales equation) is not a great way to show that love. There are some great shops out there, franchise as well as independent, give them a call.

Happy to help you guys out in any way we can, though.

Exactly whats I said.,

I do need to order your spacer kit direct acording to your tech rep. But the tech rep also told me I can order my shocks direct too so which is it.? And I asked you about the spacer but you didnt acknowledge it.

I must agree with the other poster,
Lower back pain is probably not your shocks at all but your seating posture.

I had similar problems with the drag bars (which the previous owner installed) when I changed from Mustang solo to Lepera solo) the problem disappeared as I got closer to the bike.

Putting my apes, the problem reappeared as I rolled them forward, I got nice 2" offset dog/bone risers that brought the bars 2" back to me and the back pain was gone again (luckily).

I am looking at the 422's now only to enjoy riding the bike more with my wife , keep it lowered and .. well.. to see how fast I can go on corners and curves, I love the way the bike handles with the new tires and it is now worth exploiting.

Regards

KLF

The progressive rep ignored a request to help purchase a product you "must" buy direct from them acording to their tech support line.

I asked about pricing and how to buy the spacers and never got anwsered, just sent off on my own to find a dealer. (why pay a middle man for a 2 dollar part?) Not even an offer to help me locate my local dealer either.

I got my spacers direct from progressive anyway, no thanks to the rep.

Why not acknowledge my request to buy these direct as the tech guys suggested? It was like the question was never asked.

And FYI, the price I was quotedfor the 422s direct wasnt too far from what the local rip off indy charges. I would gladly have paid the differance to order direct like I asked.

Calling the tech line sure netted much better responses than the rep on here. I suggest to anyone needing help, just call the tech line direct.

They do sell direct, and if you want the preload spacers actually encouraged me to buy direct so they can install them correctly before the schock shipped instead of hoping and paying for an indy to attempt it.

Those are facts, from the progressive tech support line.

Im not being pissy, but I feel like people should know their options are not limited to "find a dealer"

The tech line was more than helpful and ready to sell me anything I needed.

Well, we certainly hate hearing that. Big apology for the confusion! We have a handful of folks in customer service, the guy that dropped the ball will be flogged in the parking lot.

Did you get what you needed? Anything else we can help with?

No flogging necessary, I just wanted to make sure that people knew about the tech line and that they can call in to get the great service I did. your tech line is phenomenal and yes my 422's with spacer installed are on the bike and feel amazing!

I do have an extra set of spacers if anyone needs... and I will comment that the 422 with 0 preload and 1 spacer installed seem to handle a 425 pound load on a softail very very nicely.

I am very impressed with the progressive shocks and urge anybody that is on the fence to pull the trigger they were definitely worth the upgrade
