Samson's are definitely louder, especially without baffles. The V&H sit a little higher and have different looking fishtails on them. The V&H consist of fishtail end caps where as the Samsons are headers an slip ons only.
I prefer the look of the Samson fishtails as they ride lower and look more old school. I also prefer the sound of the Samson's without baffles to achieve the real fishtail sound.
hey Dr can you give me a price on some samson 28's .They end at the rear fender right here in nyc I need to back up to the curb to park and some are real high will they hit
I've had both the Vance and Hines and now currently the Samson Cholo's 39" I'm very happy with my Samsons and the sound they produce. My only complaint to be honest is the bent shift linkage that they make you use with there system. I honestly had it! But oh well what ya gonna do. I guess there engineers dont wanna take the time to produce a bend a correct bend so we can keep our billet shift linkages.
without the bent shift linkage the rear pipe would not be able to cross over to the left side. the straight linkage is right in the way. we also do not squish our crossover pipe which restricts flow. i hope this help to understand why the supplied shift rod is bent as to allow the pipe to cross over.
thank you,
JR / SAMSON

That's just Truckbizz being Truckbizz. I still have a Samson linkage on my bike long after I have changed pipes several times. I like it. there was nothing wrong with the pipes, I just wanted to change something on my bike...again! I still think about putting some Cholo's on my bike again.
