Didn't realize that it would be such a screamer just by changing the tranny pulley from a 34T to a 32T.....sucks. Really don't want to scream it past 75 on the highway. Just too many rpm's.
Gonna have to start looking at trans or trans six speed guts. My only issue will be to find out if my PM parts for the Phatail will fit the conversion or not....
Thinking it'd be less than a 10% change,, so what she turning (RPM's) at 75 in 5th.?
As soon as I fix the tach I will let you know. Yea, for whatever reason I'm much higher now. Your right though it shouldn't have affected it by much but it definitely did.
That sucks man. I got the 30T sitting on my coffee table. Mine has a 32T stock and I was gonna switch out the inner pulley to the 30T, decided not to after I saw how labor intensive it was. Plus I dont have the tools or time to do such a task.
I dont think oyur going to like the 6 sp though, arent the gears spaced out more or something like that.??
A few teeth will make a difference for sure. I dropped about four years ago on a Sportster and could have pulled tree stumps with it. Took it back off.
back in my sport bike days it was a common rule of thumb that down 1 in the front = up 2 in the back. that was the basic and cheap way of gearing the bike for the track.... on rockets the front sprocket cost a 1/3 of the price of a rear sprocket, but was harder to change out, not much harder if you had a big a$$ breaker bar.
