I am working with another forum member to try and get a group buy of 5 helmets together to see if we can get a lwoer price. If you want one PM me and we can see what we can get done.
nice lid...but my gen 2 biltwell is metal not plastic...my kid took a bike off the hook in the garage and the peg from the bike hit my biltwell and chiped the paint and it has metal showing....but for that price id by a painted one from backstreet buckets....nice candy jobs for around 250...is that lid DOT?

Metal? It may look that way but both the Biltwell novelty and DOT helmets shells are made from an injected molded plastic.I had a few myself.Scott at Backstreet Buckets does killer work no doubt.Dont get me wrong I loved my Bitwells. But they are not even close in quality compared the the Joe King Helmets. No its not DOT .But IMO the shell of the Joe King would take an impact much better than the biltwell.May be hard to tell by the pics. But in person the differences between the two helmets are easily apparent. The materials used, attention to detail and craftsmanship are far superior.Guess its whats you like better for the money.A fancier paint job or a all around better constructed helmet.Plus the Joe Kings are smaller with a lower profile.
