Default Heritage 2:1 - down to 2

I have decided to go with a 2:1 system for my stock 2010 Heritage. I have narrowed my choice between the Supertrapp Supermeg (828-71572) or Fatcat with the quiet baffles (514-32BQ). Any comments on these questions?
1. As far a loudness, are they more or less the same? (I am not looking for a overly loud system)
2. Will both systems be OK as far as saddlebag clearance? I like the fact that the Fatcats are extended 6"".
3. Is a tuner needed? Thoughts on V&H Fuelpak?

The main reasons for the change is for looks and hopefully some performance improvement. Not interested in loud pipes.

Thanks

The supertrapp is quieter. I know the fatcat is fine for saddlebag clearance, I am not sure on the supertrapp. What kind of bags are you running. A tuner is not NEEDED but highly suggested if you want to take full advantage of the benefits of a 2 into 1. A high flow filter will also help add more power and torque.

Drew - I have the stock Heritage bags. I know D&D make a Fatcat model specifically for Heritages, not sure about the Supertrapp. Would the Fatcats with the quiet baffles be significantly louder than the Supertrapps?

Thanks

Hi, I have a Fat Boy Lo 2011 International Model. I changed the mufflers and put the V&H Shortshots Staggered. I had also to remove the Exhaust Actuator and a warning light comes up on the dash board. I heard that I should buy a device called Exhaust Actuator Eliminator. But my question is: what is the real issue with that light on the dash board, that means that it can cause any serious damage to the engine ? Can I use the bike in this condition ?

Not sure the heritage fat cat is 6"longer. I believe it's 3" longer. Mine is anyway. But I love the fat cat.

Daniel, check your does as I have no idea on that.

I think the fatcat is significantly louder than the supertrapp, but it all depends on how many discs you run and your end cap. With the stock bags i am sure you are fine. The fatcat for the heritage is longer as it looks better with the bags on the heritage. With the non heritage version of the fatcat the shorter muffler looks kind of out of place.
All it says for fitment on the supermeg is not recommended for fitment with springer style saddlebags which are not what the Heritage has.

The heritage is at least 6" longer. At first I got the regular and i didn't think it looked right on my bike and then got the heritage muffler and am alot happier! I think the newer fatcat is shorter. If you order the regular 504-32b this is what you will get

I have the short (fatboy) fatcat on my Heritage with the quiet baffles, it is too quiet for me. The wife's sporty with bub 7's on it is twice as loud. And that is not all that loud.

I know the Heritage muffler quiets the pipe down just a bit more so I think you will be just fine with that one as far as sound and you just can't beat D&D for quality.

Hmmm, dont know. I have a regular muffler and a heritage muffler and the difference is 3", but longer is better on the fat cat imo.
