Anybody have any experience with Demon cycle rims? If not any suggestions for inexpensive rims to replace solids on fatboy? looking to get rid of solid mags... Thanks in advance
I was told you could find Heritage spokes on ebay for around $400 a set, but I haven't been able to find that deal myself. However, I am on the look out for some Heritage spokes for my Fatboy. I figure it's the cheapest route.
Just buy em piece by piece. All you need is a wide glide front hub, rear hub for just about any HD 16" wheel, a couple rim hoops and spokes. You can get em cheaper that way. Here's a set of 18" wheels I put together for a friend's FB. I think the total price was around 500 with the bearings, rim strips & tubes.
I just used basic hubs, ordered the 18" hoops then ordered spokes from Buchanan's. Your service manual will tell you how to lace the wheel. Easy as pie...yet so many ppl are intimidated by it.
I'll always keep an eye out on Ebay for wheel parts. I don't care what they look like and that makes em super cheap.
mreed, you make everything seem so easy, lol. Love that bike in the pic. I sold my hd spokes for $ 400 on craigslist, so deals are out there. You can check DNA as well.

Thanks...but it really isn't too difficult as long as you're willing to put a little time in it. I recently installed front & rear "Heritage" wheels on one of my Sportsters with a stock narrow glide front end. I ditched the stock front wide glide hub and laced in a narrow glide hub from a Sportster's 21" wheel. I had to do some mods to the fork sliders but with patience anything will work.
For what it's worth, I got these Heritage wheels off of Craigslist for 200 because the spokes were rusty.
Just keep looking at ebay, here, craigslist, etc. I have an extra set here but shipping wouldn't be cheap.
They are around. My FB has stock wires off a 2003, found them from a guy at work who bought a new heritage in 03 and had the dealer switch out the rims before he picked up his bike. They were brand new, just sitting in boxes in his garage.
