Maybe feeling a bobber kit...
Well, one generally follows the other. Supply and demand. Those of us who want HL products and have the fundage for them will pay what they ask. Simple.
Like this front FLH fender I reworked for the rear of one of my hardtails

Don't get me wrong, I love the bolt on kits. When someone comes in & wants a run of the mill bobber without much personal detail I always suggest that they check out places like Blue Collar Bobbers and offer some assistance to help them install the kit themselves to save them coin.
The engineering is what you're paying for. Another thing I think jacks the price up is that bobbers could very well be a fad like rat rods. If you get the chance to peek in a custom shop you'll see previous bobbers being restored to more period correct versions.
Here's an example. 5 yrs ago I built this 32 for a guy as a haggard rat rod. Now it's in for a makeover.

Bobber will be around forever and I love them. Most of mine are true, minimalistic bobbers. But once the shows & streets become flooded with them they won't be super cool anymore.
Sorry for the rambling rant. Please continue.
