Yes, I had a Road King for 3 years that I never quite fell in love with, but thought I might eventually. Put 55K miles on it, so it wasn't like I didn't give it a chance. Got the Heritage, rode it a mile and that was it. I'll have it till I can't ride anymore.
I think it's human nature to want something you don't have. I dig my deluxe and the only regret is buying one that already had some mods done to it so I could have saved some $$$. These bikes can be like a mistress, they just keep taking your money.
Down the road, I would like to get a Street Glide to ride the wife around, my Deluxe is a solo rider.........
I love my fatty and have zero regrets...I'll never sell it. But I do have second thoughts...my second thought is I'm gonna get a crossbones too...third thoughts? rocker. 4th-streetglide for an occasional exceedingly long trip. fifth thoughts...sporty to rat out and fly around town.
I think we all have 'second bike' desires not second thoughts... I won't trade my bike , it suites my style.. but I would love to have a Sporty, a Classic Springer, and a CB750 Cafe Racer .
I live by (and bought my bike from) Chicago Harley. I went there on Monday to get some glasses and I saw SIX black and white Deluxes on the floor. All I thought was now there is gonna be SIX more of them on the road by me. Then I sat on a denim black Street Glide and a sedona orange Road King.....then I thought to myself, it would be nice to keep going and make my Deluxe in to a solo show style bike and get a touring bike....put exhaust and a tune on it and then I have a 2-up cruiser too. I thought about having 2 bikes, then my bank book (wife) slapped me and said...."not now fool!" I also want another vibrant red 1993 Cobra with black cloth interior.....I just need to win the lotto!
I'll live by my rule for Selling Guns with my bikes.
Never sell a gun because as soon as you do you will start to miss it. Keep them all.
There are different models because there are different moods to ride in. I just wish I could find a way to get the floorboards down a bit lower on the SG to make it feel more like my Heritage. I would buy one in a heartbeat.
You will always want something else! But 2 bikes does help ease the anxiety. Now I want a third and I'm thinking Road King in about 3 years. Never ends bro.
no regrets here i have had my 05 deluxe from 04 and have no intentions on getting rid of it only thing i would do is get another bike if i had somewhere to put it
