So I've done the search and haven't found the answer I'm looking for. Does Harley or anyone make a cover plate for the fuel pump on an EFI tank when using it on a carb bike. If so, can someone tell me the part #? I thought i saw it before somewhere, but cant seem to find it again now that i need it.
Thanks in advance.
Your local dealer should have a number for you. The MOCO started using a plate like you are talking about somewhere around 2004 on the carbed bikes because if I am not mistaken in 2004 the carbed and injected bikes used a common fuel tank.
I might have found something for ya. Check with the dealer and try this number here,
62275-04. It should be an adapter kit to use efi tanks on carb bikes. The only problem is you probably won't have a fuel gauge.
Ghostrider thanks. I ordered that part # and all i got was the fuel valve adapter. I've talked to 2 dealerships and they have no idea wht im talking about. I know I've seen the plate kit and thought it was that #, but i could be wrong.
I guess i should have clarified that i have a 2002 Fatboy carbed and got an (year unknown) EFI gas tank that was bare, so i need to fill the hole in the top. Paint will be done soon so need to figure this out.
Take tank to dealer and let the parts guy take a look.
In the 2007 parts book I got 2 numbers for the cover:
75141-06 for the cover of all bikes but the Deuce
(the 06 at the end means it is for 06 and later bikes, but since the gasket has 02 at the end I think it's just an adjustment to the way the connector or fuel pump would attach to it, so should work for you purpose as size still the same)
61381-02 for the gasket
1311D for the screws (you need 10 screws - don't know if that number is for one screw or all 10)
For the Deuce in case you got that tank
Tank cover: 75141-06
gasket: 61315-02
Same number for the screws
You have to attach that plate/gasket in the right way, with the right torque specs or you will get a fuel leak.
