Default Problem with chrome switch housing.

I just replace my black handle bar switch housing and break reservior with chrome ones and now they want tighten up on the handlebar like the black ones did. I have tighten them up until I almost strip the bolt heads and they will only snug up on the bar to where I can pretty easy twist around. This chrome switch housing is a after market part and I have install them on my 09 Heritage which it should fit. Has anyone else run into this problem or have and Ideal or trick to get them to tighten up.
I have done a search and did not find anyone that has posted this problem.
Any one have any ideals?

My guess is since they are aftermarket (depending on who made them) that their diameter is off a smidge. I bought the Harley chrome switch housings for my 06 Heritage Classic and have never had an issue with them. Maybe wrap some teflon or electrical tape around the handlebars where the housings meet and it will take up the slack.

I throught about wraping my handle bar with tape also. I believe that may be my best bet. So this afternoon after work I will give that a try. Thanks

I used what I call a rubber shim that came with a set of pegs I bought. They are about 1/16th inch thick and have a sticky backing on one side. Cut them into 1/2 strips, wrapped the bars with them, put the housings on, have never moved since.
