I know nobody wants to hear about a touring bike in the softail section, but here you go anyways: So after a long trip, I started thinking about trading in for a Road Glide. I took one out today for a few hours. 2011 RG Ultra with a 103 and stage 1. I have to say I was very impressed. So smooth, loaded with such nice options, hugged the corners like you wouldn't believe, an all-round great bike. I really was amazed how nibble it was. It looked so big under me, but drove like something half the weight and size of my Heritage. So, after a truly relaxing drive, I pulled into the dealer, looked at my bike sitting in the parking lot, and thought to myself "no way am I giving up my softy for this car on two wheels!". In my opinion, there is no better definition of a motorcycle then a Heritage Softail Classic.
Waiting on an inspection, the dealer offered me a $25 gift card for a test ride of my choice. Jumped on a stock 103 street glide and damn......shouldn't have done that. It was smooth. Handled great, pulled a fast Uey and it seemed to handle it great. Cruise, nice radio, wind blockage and comfort for the girl that likes to ride..... The springer is stayin for life, I've got a strong feelin a road king, road glide or street is gonna be parked next to is very soon.
Side note, the 103 stock is a freggin DOG! My springer with a 107 is a beast. Couldn't imagine owning a bike with less power.
You're probably right, but there will always be some good old fashioned air cooled crate motors to take care of that problem. That being said, if the '12 bikes come out liquid cooled, a quick call to the bank and i'll buy the demo i was on. Can't afford it, but I'd have no choice. I'm sure the bank would understand...

Yeah, I'm happy with my Heritage as well. Gonna build a rigid bobber for my next bike and then who knows...I've always liked the RG and RK, but the Heritage is a very capable tourer with good looks.
