I know this question can stir up a real hornets nest but anyone have any input as to the best sounding slip on mufflers for my 09 flstf? Not looking for the loudest but all around performance and nice tone. Would like louder than stock.
I listened to a lot of bikes, both live and video clips on youtube, to find the tone and volume level I liked. I later found out that the one I liked was also being offered as an option in some stage I upgrade kits, and had relatively good performance characteristics.
I'd recommend going through a similar 'discovery' process to find something you'll really be happy with.
I've had the Screamin Eagle SP on my '09 FLSTF for about a year. Performance was good with a stage 1 air filter and Fuelpak. I wanted more sound so I recently put on a set of Rush slip-ons with the 1.75 baffle. So far I love them. Much deeper tone at idle but not disturbing loud. When I get on the gas I can hear the engine now so I'm happy.
