2005 Softail Standard with no spark. Rode one day, shut it off and no start next day. Cranks over but no spark. Checked the crank sensor, coil, bank angle sensor, and even the ECM. I even went as far as to swap out the ECM, coil, bank angle sensor, and crank sensor with ones from my buddy's softail that is same year and model, still with no luck. No DTC's are present. Tested all parts in question with a DVOM and all meet specs in my manual. Checked for spark with plugs installed in the heads and used a spare set of plugs installed in wires and grounded to the heads, all with no luck. Any help would be appreciated.
Well, logic says it's time to look into the wiring. Something is telling the bike not to fire. It's tedious but the wiring harness can be broken down in sections. A broken wire, switch not working, something unplugged....I feel for ya, took me 3 times to find the wire that feeds my bank angle sensor was broken internally and kept shutting the bike off.
Scotty, I have been there, it seems daunting at 1st. But once you get the tank off and pull the harness out where you can get at it, it's not that bad. It's all plug and play, so you aren't going to hurt it worse, just some time spend with a VOM. I really think something came unplugged and it won't be as bad as you think.
Good luck.
