Motor upgrade
I have a 2004 Softail Standard and I am thinking about geting a 95" Big Bore Stage 1 upgrade for my 88" from Harley-Davidson through the the Reman program. Can anyone give me any thougts on this. Any input would be great. Thanks. CHOPSAW.

What exactly, performance-wise, are you looking for out of this build? More power low, mid or top of the rpm band? You a long-distance traveler or around-town kind of rider.These criteria will help you narrow down a cam choice.What's your budget? This is the most important factor-$$$-that most posters leave out. Do you have carb or EFI? There are a lot of options in terms of local builders and indies, many of whom are sponsors here that can set you up. You do any wrenching? If so, you can save alot of money. With the reman program, you take your bike to a dealer, they remove the engine, send it to the factory,then reinstall your motor. Might be a more expensive way to go if budgeting is a consideration plus you may be limited to SE parts.
