'07 HSC, when starting I get a loud pop or two as she starts up. Basically sounds like someone hitting something solid with a wooden baseball bat. I assume (well, more hope really) that this is just a normal "backfire" out the exhaust, yes?
I don't know if you've done anything to your pipes or air breather but I'd say your bike is running just a tad rich. I wouldn't sweat it though but you can pull your plugs and tell for sure.
my fb was doing that too, i found the two small black tubes in back of the air cleaner had cracked and came off. i replaced them and the spark plugs and she's smoother now. i would take off the air cleaner cover and inspect those two little back tubes, make sure they are still connected.
Just back from the dealer. Service guy says it's normal for the '07s Of course it was warm when I started it for him so it did not make as load a noise. Guess, I've got two years of warranty to figure out if it is an issue.
