I would start by talking to the computer. The error codes will give you the main story. I think there is a sticky on the top of the forum that shows how to read the codes.
Ground is next. This kid of stuff sounds like it is effecting the spark and fuel delivery so it must be electrical or computer related.

What get me is if Ur 500 miles away from home and U bike wont run then most think a Dealership is there best friend....
But if she dies near home lot of members calls them Stealerships..

You have a point, but here is my problem.
Go to said dealer . Explain said dealer my problem.

Now comes the ridiculous part. Drop the bike off its no big deal be done in a few hours. Mind if i wait , deer. No sit in the lounge, relax.....3 hours later, sir, we are sorry this is gonna gake longer than we thought. 3 days later hey bud , shes good to go . She is ready for pick up .
Bill: 110 for parts.
550 for labor @. 100 per hour.
Now here is the best part.....all they did was swap out stator, swap out regulator. Five hours for that......call it what ya will, but I know a Robbery when i see one. That my good man, is definately getting Robbed. Granted the customer service aspect was, is on point. But not at that cost. I shouldn't have to tell you to read the horror stories that are posted here.
I'm doing my boy a favor, we are gonna give it a solid good shot at making his Bones good as new, and i k ow that with you and this forums help, we can avoid that dread Ohh fudge feeling when ya get the bill.
The dealership, will be the ultimate last resort.
