Yeah, don't let this dissuade you from getting a windshield. The installation is not as bad as maybe I made it sound, but it could be better. Not quite sure why the bottom brackets and bushings don't align better... almost like the engineers saw it looked good on paper, but didn't actually try it. I'm going to tweak my brackets like was suggested... I just wanted to be reassured that itwasn't my imagination.

I have a buddy that had a softail standard for 5 years. Paid big money for a detachable shield....and used it twice!
I'm not a huge fan of having a windsheild on my Lo (from an esthetics standpoint), but it does make a difference in fatigue factor on longer rides. I still buzz around town without it. Therefore I wanted to make sure it would go on and come off easy enough that I would have no qualms about going back and forth. And actually, after going on a longish ride, I still haven't taken it back off until I have time to tweak the lower brackets to make the installation as easy as it is supposed to be.

Yeah your right. I guess I am still trying to talk myself out of buying a windshield. I hate the look of the shield on the lo, but for long rides which I do often it probably would improve the comfort.

Come on they don't look that bad when you have your back rest and pass seat on the bike.
