Default Carrying Weight For A Hreitage

I'm looking into getting a Heritage, and have heard that there is not alot of travel at the rear tire. Combined weight for me and the wife would be about 480. Can anybody help me with knowing if it would have trouble bottom'n out.

I have an 08 Heritage and travel 2 up a lot. With the wife & I and all our riding gear we'd probably weigh about 400 lbs. Add the sissy bag & full saddlebags and it would probably add another 50 lbs.

Shocks set on the stiff setting, the bike will on occasion bottom out on a good hard dip.

Most bikes I've ridden 2 up will bottom out on occasion when they are fully loaded and hit a rough spot.

Hope this helps.

The dealer adjusted ours at the 1k for 350 still have more left if needed.

The wife and I also go around 410, even with some extra in the bags she very seldom every bottoms out.. Actually I don't remember the last time she did, maybe 2-3 times in 34k miles. It would have to be a very, very nasty bump or hole to do it..

The front has bottomed out more a couple more times than the rear does since adjusting, still its only done it a few times also. Usually the front bottom when U see a rough place in the road, hit the brakes and then hit the hole. I use the front with the rear on quick stops causing the forks to go down, then when U hit a rough one, with less travel because Ur on the front brake anyway they can bottom out.

Every time I've bottomed out it was on rough RR tracks. Don't ever think I've bottomed out just ridding down a road. Its always the freaken tracks that get me.

Also I've never bottomed her out riding solo.

Last time I remember bottoming out, my son was riding with me on his Street Glide, He bottomed out also.

I have a 2009 Heritage and the wive and I weighed in at about 450. We do bottom out pretty often when the saddlebags are full (+- 40 lbs) and we carry a bag behind (+- 15 lbs). I am thinking of trading for an Ultra Classic because of that. It is fine for short trips but we like long runs and we need to loose weight and I have a serious doubt about this one . We had the shocks adjusted a few time but still it is not acceptable on long runs.
