i agree with nikon , there are so many uninformed , inflated speeds its laughable. I think some of you need to go out and get a bike that goes fast ... using a harley wont work.
btw my poor old 07 heritage fully loaded with bags and screen on a 50 k flat straight stretch no wind managed 175k ( 110mph ) or thereabouts with the throttle remaining open for the entire stretch , got it a tad over 180k when slipstreaming past a truck but thats it. as for people saying they had plenty of throttle left im here to tell you that whilst you may have had more throttle , it doesnt translate in plenty more speed ..
btw in the 6 speed bikes , 5th gear will probably be your best bet to get your top speed.
You got that right ...... mind you those that attained cult status planet hoppin i wonder how cool they looked while they was fightin leaving earth's gravitational pull? ....
I have to agree about inflated speeds. My bike is modified a good amount and does 107 mph in a quarter mile at the track. That speed is reached at the very top of 5th gear or right after I shift into 6th. There is more left in 6th but I do not believe too much more. However, it is built as a low to mid range torque motor and not a top end high HP motor.
I guess if you never lifted on a stock bike and had a tailwind you might eventually reach 120mph but am not sure.
My bike is rock solid at a high speed with no wobble or shaking, but it is still scary fast and always feels good to slow back down.
Somewhere around 105 when going to sturgis...plenty fast for me with bags and shield, got passed by a old guy in a Buick, wearing those huge plastic wrap around sunglasses when I was going 80...could'nt allow that..LOL

never seen so many dumb responses .....
carry on dreaming
This isn't a place for judging people. I was curious so I asked the question. I'm big enough and ugly enough to pick through the comments without help!

What does your HP & TQ curve look like? I think the fact that my bike is tuned for HP as much as TQ means it is able to hit 120mph easily (and probably in 4th,(rev limiter at 160 in 3rd) at the risk of getting shouted at again!)
Speedos are off too. If you're measuring by the speedometer, then unless you've done something to correct the stock error, subtract a few MPH. Generally, the faster you go, the bigger the disparity.
Huh... I might have to call my dyno guy and ask if he has a mph chart for my bike when it turned 126+ HP(std) @ 6500rpm in 5th gear. My own curiosity wants to know now...
There have been a few posts about speed based on a dyno. According to my engine builder, who regularly wins the dyno competitions at Daytona and Sturgis, the estimated elapsed times and top speeds on a dyno run do not take into account the weight or aerodynamics of the bike. They are for giggles and not accurate.
As to WAHog, have you run the bike at a track? My dyno chart shows superior HP and torque across the board and no way could my bike approach 120 in 4th gear. Go a track and get an elapsed time and top speed and post the results. I would be surprised if our bike is as fast as you think.
